Notice anything different?
Indeed, I haven't been on this site for quite a while, and it's been several months since I've submitted anything, or even logged in...
It's not that I haven't been trying to make anything new, on the contrary I had been spending quite a bit of time wasting hours away in my bedroom, attempting to better my skills. And attempting in vain.
A recent visit to old sketchbooks, and this site itself, have led to the conclusion that I have been completely incapable of drawing. Anything. Any projects I've attempted have ended in complete failure, and I have found myself unable to even sketch of late, out of disgust. I took it upon myself to destroy every existing piece of art I have ever created: Old and new art books have been shredded and disposed of, and everything on this site has been removed and deleted from my computer, completely irretrievable so as not to deter myself from looking ahead, instead of backward. I'll continue to practice art in private, and in private only, so as not to humiliate myself further. When I am satisfied with a piece of work I make, I'll post it. That's all there is to it. And if a picture shows so much as a shred of failure, it'll be destroyed, along with the others. Simple enough idea: Only let the pieces worthy of an audience able to be seen. And the pieces unworthy of existence will be, well, un-existed... As of now, everything I've turned out sickens me, so I've saved myself the grief, and happily gotten rid of it all.
Although, this means that it may be a very long time until anything gets put up here again, maybe never if I'm unable to become a decent artist, but so long as I try, I guess that's what matters.
I've decided not to settle with crap that other people think is good, or stuff that's good "for me". Until I make something that I can look at, and truly "like", I'll be working away trying to find the solution.
